Korbel Helps Clear a Trail

Video of Korbel and Loretta Clearing a Trail.
It takes all sorts of training to turn out a good trail horse. In this video Loretta needed to cut a branch from the trail and she did so while mounted on Korbel. Turns out the branch was longer than Korbel!

Trail clearing can be challenging when the ponies have their own project going on, that is, finding the best leaves to munch. That would be beech leaves in our (literal) neck of the woods.

Awesome job! And Korbel did her part to help get rid of some of those leaves!

Korbel can be frustrating at times, as can all young horses. But, she is coming along very well! On our last trip to camp, we rode with two friends with horses Korbel had never previously met. She can be assertive toward geldings, though Loretta is working on that. To our delight, Korbel led that day, kept up a very brisk pace and did not get too upset at either strange horse. Days like that make it all worth it.
