Fabric Saddle for Moonshine?
« on: June 03, 2023, 08:41:02 pm »

If I can get Moonshine to be lighter in mouth, I think she will be my trail horse of choice since Robert is gone. She was his horse. They just don't come any smoother or more energetic. I just have to get her lighter in mouth or she'll wear my arms out.

Saddle Robert used on her is an old Trooper, heavy, heavy, heavy! I just don't like struggling with those big heavy saddles. It's a rough and ugly process for me to push and tug that up on her back. Looking for a lightweight western Saddle like my old Tennessean from Natalie Bridle. She is a very round, mutton- withered horse. Suggestions?

I have seen part synthetic troopers. And part synthetic saddles. I use them.  ( no horn)

If you like the trooper saddle, except for the weight of the ones you've seen, I'd recommend taking a look at The Saddle Guy. He makes very lightweight trooper saddles.
