Need Sizing Advice from Experienced Scoot Booters
« on: May 30, 2023, 03:43:41 pm »

Front right: 5 1/4" L x 5 1/4" W
Front left: 5 1/2" L x 5  1/2"
...and this difference may be from farrier trimming unequally or that hooves now have8 days growth on them.

I came up with size 7 on Schneider's chart but Schneider lady advised me to get size 8, better to buy one size larger for growth between trims. I worry this will make sloppy fit to rub or lose boot. I thought Scoot Boots stretched some with growth is why they advise waiting 1-2 weeks out from trim to measure. What is your experience and advice?

Backs, whole different take. Only got one back hoof measured before storm hit: 5 1/2" L x 4 7/8" W, so thought I needed Slims. She advised size 3 or 4???? I don't get that at all!! Plus their size chart on slims only goes up to 5.

Help!!!

I don't use scoots but definitely only measure from a fresh trim.    And photograph the measurement so that's easiest done while the farrier is there.  That way you send the pictures with the tape measure right to the company (scoot boot) or the seller.   There are several scoot boot dealers that will help you that have more experience than a box store.  Are you on facebook? If so look up karen timcoe cox - her group is scoot boot adventures.   She is a well known seller.   There are also sometimes sellers in different areas that will come out to you to do a measure/fit.
