Korbel's First Time Stalled at Home Alone
« on: October 04, 2021, 03:22:54 pm »

Loretta and I took a little ride today at LBL. We were gone a total of 6-1/2 hours. We put Korbel in a stall with plenty of hay and water. She had been stalled at camp by herself while we rode, but this was the first time at home. Here is a video taken shortly after we got home. Bandit and Smokey were still rolling in the field when we let Korbel out of the stall.

So funny!  She kicks out at the older horse, then does baby mouth as soon as she is reprimanded!

I sure like her.  I think she will turn into a great trail horse.

She is a hoot! Love when she does the baby mouth. Any time Loretta or I go out the back door, Korbel nickers at us. Walk into a pasture and she immediately leaves the other horses to be with her humans. How can you not love that!

She gets right in our slant load trailer and backs out nicely. The other day Loretta had her get up on our flatbed trailer, then backed her off. I’ve been getting her to give me her feet regularly and have lightly rasped them on several occasions. She’s gone from being overly curious about our dogs to now just ignoring them. We are having a lot of fun together.

When we were raising babies, I had the best time with the babies. It’s fun teaching them those early lessons.

Best thing is leaving her at home while you take other horses away.

I agree! She seems to do well with it. At camp, we had a friend walk by our spot a couple of times while we were out riding. She said Korbel was quiet and just munching hay.
