Specialized Saddles
« on: February 20, 2014, 01:04:26 pm »

Does anyone own a Specialized Saddle?  Or do they know anyone who does use one?  Am considering one because it is supposedly adjustable all sorts of different ways.  I did try one about 10 years ago but didn't get it as it didn't feel great to me, but they appear to have changed.

I am seriously considering one.  I can't get a saddle to fit, and that is my last resort.

My wife tried a Specialized Saddle, among MANY other saddles. She couldn't figure out how all the shims worked and sent it back. Eventually, she settled on a Barefoot treeless saddle and has been very happy with it for years. I actually bought a Barefoot saddle for my barrel-shaped KMSH that I ride only occasionally.

Nothing wrong with the quality of the Specialized Saddles. And, you may figure out the shim system and be very well satisfied with it!

I have one and LOVE it.  As an aside, there is a dealer at my barn and she and my horse's vet adjusted it for us.

Lots of work and effort and trial and error on getting those shims "just right".

Did you feel perched in the saddle?  I have ridden in one, and felt that instantly.  Also some others said the same thing.

Your body and your horses body must be in sync to make a saddle work.

You both must say "yes" to the dress.
