I signed up for the subscription. He has lots of good training videos. Anybody else use his training methods?

I have seen several of his videos. I like a lot of his methods. I refer to several trainers and get good tips from all of them. Even those trainers whose techniques and philosophy I disagree with have taught me things, often what not to do! Warwick will teach you some good stuff.

I've seen him at Equine Affaire and was pretty impressed.
So sad there was no EA in OH this year.  :'(

Thought you all would be interested in an update. We have been making slow(mainly due to my busy schedule and weather) but steady progress. I have been paying alot more attention to Kate's stress signals and getting her to relax. I have to make myself relax as I know she can pick up on my anxiety. My confidence is slowly building but I am still watchful for spooks. I don't want to get run over and hurt.
She is used to things over her body now(ie umbrella, ropes, flag on an extension pole). Now I am teaching her to stand beside a mounting block quietly while I am standing on it rubbing her back. The problem is that she gets too close and wants to rub on me. That makes me lose my balance and step off of it. She is very in-my-pocket and wants lots of attention. We will have to work on personal space.
But she is calm and wants to learn so that is very helpful. She turned four at the end of May and she filled out alot. Her vet said that she is getting a little too heavy so now her "grain" is just a pound of Tribute Essential K pellets(basically a ration balancer) per day and last-year's first cutting hay. She is on dry lot most of the day except for 20 minutes in the morning when I turn her out on poor pasture.
Our next step will be me throwing a leg over her. I don't have a round pen-just electric tape fence so I will have to figure something out. Hopefully she will just stand still with one of my adult kids holding her as I put my weight on her. We will see....
Anyways, I am pleased with Warwick's program and think more about how the horse must think and feel. He explains things well.

Update on Kate & I
I didn't get to work with her as much as I should have but we did spend quality time together hanging out and doing some ground work. I was able to get her saddled and get used to me leaning over her at the mounting block. I think she will be okay for her first ride but I just don't feel safe mounting her by myself for her first time.
I am still working full-time until I retire next September.
Due to Covid, our adult handicapped son,Joe, lost both of his dishwashing jobs, so alot of my free time is spent with him and finding things for him to do. He is used to being busy and going to work. His Special Olympics program never started this Fall either. We didn't feel safe letting him participate in the Kiwanis bowling program either since it obviously takes place inside and it involves a large number of participants. If Joe on or I got exposed and brought it home to my husband(who has COPD), that would be really bad. So,instead, we help our daughter complete projects at her house. Our son is a big help there. I used to work with Kate while Joe was at work or Spec. Olympics.
I have been working on getting my confidence back with Kate. She ran into me and knocked me down this summer in the arena. She didn't respect my personal space. I knew I needed more help so I paid for a groundwork lesson with a local Warwick Schiller travelling trainer(Dani). She helped us alot. We worked on collision avoidance and got her to load willingly in my trailer but she isn't totally comfortable in it. We still have to practice on that.
Before I could actually trailer Kate anywhere, I needed to have long-delayed maintenance completed on my trailer. The brakes needed to be replaced.  I got my trailer back then the trainer(Susan) I planned to bring Kate to for a couple of months had to take her little boy in for surgery. Then they both got Covid. Ugg. They are okay now.  Now we have decided that it would be best to wait until Spring to bring Kate to her. Oh well. Kate will be five and physically mature by then. It's almost winter, I have no indoor arena,so we will just
work on more groundwork until next Spring.
And now Michigan is under a three week quarantine due to Covid. So we just have to be patient.

Wow! What a.full plate and you still find.time for.your sweet son AND horsey. They are both lucky to have you. But take.care of yourself first. Don't.stretch yourself too thin. Although I am sure the horse is part of your personal coping therapy. I know it is for me, although I have lacked giving them the attention they deserve and I have far fewer.excuses than you do. My hat's off to you.

You really do have a full schedule.  Sounds like you still have a good plan mapped out for training. So many things are taking a back seat in this new landscape we find ourselves in. Good luck with all your endeavors and take care of yourself.
