Yes, Kysa, that is a horse you definitely don't want to part with.  So happy he is working out for you.

Knowing me I would have offered to have her ride with me and some of my been there done all that friends. My horse and I seem to make less than confident newbies find their groove in time. I have a ton of patience though and don't mind what others see as a challenge. Forever the Cheerleader, never the fear leader.  ;) I love watching people have success one ride at a time. This lady sounds like she could use a gaited mentor.  :)

Wakemom, I think you’ve nailed it! I bet you’ve helped lots of newbies over the years!

Do you know if she ever joined the forum?  I for one have a lazy TWH! He also does not care if everyone goes off and leaves him!  He is great for riding with the QH's and just my husband. I guess there are lazy, laid back ones in other gaited breeds. It's just his personality.

Is this lady just determined to ride with these quarter horse friends? Could she locate a trail riding group in her area that is geared to the gaited set? Or check to see if TETRA in her area has a number of gaited members? Easier said than done.tho. we just had to drive too far, too long to participate in the only group we found and so finally gave it up but sure was a lot more fun than riding with quarter horses. I M sure if she was upfront about her issues and inexperience, they would probably help.

I’ve lost track of this lady. I’ve not seen her again.
