Updated Pics of Rocky Mtn Filly 4-19-2016
« on: April 01, 2016, 12:01:11 pm »

This girl is just the sweetest thing.  Already coming up to visit anybody that comes in the stall.  Delivery went well and vet came today and she got the colostrum she needed.  Mom still squealing at her when she nurses as she seems to be quite sore but vet wasn't worried-said it might take a few days to get soreness out.  She is either a silver grulla like her mom or a silver grulla roan-will be able to tell better when we get her outside. Calling her Remi after her sire.

20 days old in pictures below

I have two more mares due now that are bred to our stallion, Blue Knight.  One more is around 332 days and the other is 324 days.

These two mares have almost always foaled around days 320 and 321.  All of mine this year are going over.

Better chance of all fillies then. Typically gestation time is longer for fillies than colts...not sure why, but it is.

Boy that would be a first for me.  We have only had 2 fillies out of about 12-15 foals.  Wouldn't that be something if we had all fillies this year???  lol

all 3 were fillies-hard for us to believe!!  We have almost always had colts; only 2 fillies in all these years.  Blessed with 3 this year!!
