You need to lower the resolution, not necessarily make the dimensions smaller. Whatever the resolution is now, you should lower it to 72 pixels per inch for viewing on a computer screen. You don't need to change your cameral settings, but open the photo in some kind of editing software and change it there. Once you do it, save the photo with a different name if you want to keep the original high resolution version as well.

sometimes your email program will do it.  If you right click on the picture and say you want to send it email  then it puts the picture in a composing email and you can just save that attachment which will be a smaller size.

Is there a way to post photos that have been uploaded to Facebook?

Well, I did not think you could post a picture directly from Facebook, but I just did! What I did was to right-click on my picture and select, "Copy Photo Address." Then, I opened a message here, clicked the little photo icon and pasted the address I copied into the box that opened up. The result is what you see here! Surprised me!!
