Just a quick comment about elastic end girths.  For several years I rode in an old Wintec, because it was lightweight and easy to just throw on and go, and Smokey & I really liked the English girths w/ elastic ends--had a few in different lengths to accommodate his changing weight over those years.  So when I rode in my Ortho-Flex again, I was excited to have all those girths--couldn't figure out why saddle kept slipping.  Besides Skeeter being a no-withered/boulder shouldered tank, I realized that elastic girths in combo w/ a flex panel saddle on that body type just is destined to fail.  Haven't tested my theory, since realizing that it didn't help that my "one size fits all" (NOT!) OrthoFlex does NOT fit him (and seat that was great for me when I weighed 120 lbs. no longer fit me very well @ 160 lbs., which was my weight last time I attempted to ride him in the O-F).  My hypothesis is that flex panel or flex tree saddles are NOT a good mix w/ elastic end girths.

For trail riding - 100% Mohair - I have a Billy Cook and just splurged on a Beaver Valley Fiber Arts custom girth.  I like natural products for their comfort and bereathability.  I do have a waffle neoprene dressage girth, which is generally used for 20-30 minute workouts.
