Cuervo 8 months**NEW PICS**
« on: May 11, 2014, 11:11:43 am »

My once beautiful Palomino colt is going through a stage where he looks like "something the cat drug in".  He is a wonderful guy, sweeter than most, but OMGosh. I keep being reminded of something an old timer told me many years ago "look at them when they are born and then don't look at them again until they are two" LOL
He doesn't seem inclined to shed except for in a few patches, and his long fuzzy coat actually matts up in places. YES I DO brush him. It doesn't seem to help, and YES I do worm him, but he still looks scrawny and pot bellied. I DO love him and I am sure he will be beautiful again someday.
I just thought y'all might enjoy a giggle seeing him go through the uglies.. NOW back to the pretty little babies.

That sounds like wonderful advice.  Kinda like teen boys going through that "gangly" stage....

I think yearlings are always slow to shed out properly anyway.  He's looking good, just the same!

too funny KC.. good thing I don't have to sell him right now. I am still holding out hope that he will pretty up eventually. If not we will just love him because he is so ugly he's cute.

I went out and worked him over with the shedding blade, brush and even used the furminator to get the mats out. Then I decided what he really needed was a bath. Not sure if it helped but he looks better wet. Then I decided if all else fails I can just hide him under a tarp  :)

Awwww-gotta LOVE those eyes.  I think he is just gorgeous in these pix, Nelda.  Don't call him ugly ever again!
