This is my Rocky Mountain mare that is actually due (340 days) on May 22.  Her last foal, though, she foaled on day 321 which will be May 2.  Today is day 310 and she looks like she is almost there now.  Still needs to relax more in the rear, and would be nice if she would wax, but usually she surprises us.  She never shows all the signs that she is going to foal.  She is definitely a sneaky one.  I know her attitude is a lot more grumpier these last 2 days.  She just got her V shape yesterday. Anyway, here are some pictures taken April 21.









Now If I can keep her clean I would be happy.

Really good pictures Kim!   probably won't ever need to know about how they look at near term, but it's fascinating. We are all looking forward to BABY PICTURES!!!

Thanks Joann.  I had brushed her because she had dirt caked all over one side of her!  She definitely was a mess.  Pretty soon I will be putting her in a stall for delivery.  If I don't she will take off with the baby and won't let us around for a few days!

Thanks Mona.  I think I'll be lucky if she makes it a full week.  I have a bowling league tonight so hubby is in charge of feeding horses and checking on her.  He just don't look at her as good as I do!  lol

Was she bred one just the one cycle, or on a second because she came back into heat?

No we took her to be bred and I thought she would be coming into heat in a few days and she did.  So they bred her then and she came home.  Checked her later and she took.  I have been lucky in that every mare I have bred so far has took first try!  Knock on wood.

We become like Zombies during foaling time.  My other mare is due June 22 but she will go early too!  Anxious to see mare this evening.  Hubby fed and checked on them last night as I had bowling league and didn't get home till after 9.  No one can check them like I can!!!  lol

Yeah I don't think she will either!  And my other mare is due June 22 and she is big already and has a small bag but she's not quite there.  However, she has foaled two foals on days 310 and 309 so I expect her to be early too.

I expect to be stalling her any time now and sleeping at the farm soon!!  lol
