My mare had a beautiful filly!
« on: May 02, 2014, 06:36:10 am »

Born 5-2-2014 at 12:30 am a beautiful chocolate filly.  She has done really well but still a little confused about where the milk comes from.  Helped her nurse several times and will go back at lunch and see how she's doing.  She didn't want to duck her head under her mom and find the milk!  Hubby is calling her Ms. Diva!   She does seem to be one!  lol  Pictures to follow later.

Thanks all.  I have taken some but will have to post later this evening.  I'm at work and I have my camera but my cords and stuff are at home.  At first she didn't quite understand where to get her milk from, she was trying to get it from the walls, and usually this don't last too long, but she was still confused this morning.  We helped her several times find the ninnies, and she nursed, so I was a little concerned.  However, I went at lunch and checked on her and mom and she was nursing when I got there and again before I left so I think we are over that hurdle.  Whew!!!

That is GREAT news!!  Is very scarey when they do not nurse relatively quickly!
