Happy Memorial Day weekend.  My favorite part is the fly-overs of the WW2 airplanes from Travis Air Force Base.  My father, who passed 7 years ago, served in WW2 & the Korean War.

I was stationed at Travis back in the 60s. I loved that part of California.

Enjoy your weekend

I just finished the spring yardwork, cleaned up the landscaping and planted my 3 little raised beds. This has been a several day project.

I'm hoping to find some friends to join us for a cookout tomorrow. With that in mind, a strawberry rhubarb pie is in the oven.

Going to rest for a while now, then pick a horse to ride.

Spending a long weekend at camp, riding. Mowed the yard twice in the week prior... rain followed by warm, humid weather necessitates that! Rode out Friday with a 30% chain of scattered showers. Stupidly did not take rain gear. No excuse, just a brain fart. Came back to camp in a driving rainstorm complete with extra-loud thunder! Discovered Smokey can do a smooth running walk at 14.5 mph over trails that turned into mini-rivers. Quite exhilarating. Hoping that memory will suffice for the foreseeable future. Yesterday’s ride uneventful, thankfully. Today looks to be nice, though humid. Trails could use some dry days! Birds are sure sounding nice in the forest!

Ok. We can walk back in! 😂😂

Actually, the weather forecast looks exceptional for your visit.  Of course, it’s the weather, but currently you look to have no rain during your stay.

brought a friends horse home to care for while she tends to her dad so using the 3 day weekend to monitor how my horse and hers get along.  Mine has been an only horse for about 6 yrs now, so is having a hard time sharing his home.  Both are alfa geldings which makes it more "interesting".  So kicking back, dealing with the heat and humidity in central IL and not packing a lot of "to dos" into my off time.

Hope everyone has a safe weekend.  We just started plowing our farm fields, still plenty of wet areas, but it's now or never.  Farming in our part of Ohio is very behind due to the cold wet conditions we've had.    It is dry now, but very hot and humid now for a few days.
I've been planting a few flowers, and grilling our meals.  Planning on attending a Memorial Day Service in our town tomorrow.

Same here in PA- farmers are rushing to get some planting done and it’s wet but can’t wait any longer.

It was really humid yesterday but cooler with scattered sprinkles today.

Hope to ride with friends tomorrow.  :)
