Recipe for coffee creamer
« on: January 06, 2018, 12:12:24 pm »

I didn't see a recipe thread so .... so this online and though I don't use creamer in my tea very often I thought some of you guys might.   Here's how to make your own.

Here's the basic recipe and a bunch of flavors to choose from....you can thank me later...over a cup of coffee...lol
Homemade Coffee Creamer
For each flavor of creamer, you start off with the same basic ‘base’ recipe.

14 oz sweetened condensed milk
1 3/4 cup milk or cream
Mix the ingredients together well. Add them to a mason jar and shake to thoroughly mix the contents.

POSSIBLE FLAVOR COMBINATIONS
French Vanilla Creamer
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Vanilla Bean Coffee Creamer
2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste

Chocolate
2-3 tablespoons chocolate syrup

Chocolate Almond
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon almond extract
Strudel
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
Vanilla Caramel
2 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Chocolate Raspberry
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons raspberry syrup
Irish Cream
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon instant coffee
1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
Coconut
2 teaspoons coconut extract
Chocolate / Caramel / Coconut
2 teaspoons coconut extract
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
Peppermint Patty
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
Cinnamon Vanilla
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pumpkin Spice
3 tablespoons pureed pumpkin
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
4 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Honey Vanilla
1/4 cup honey
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Almond Joy
1-2 teaspoons coconut extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
Sweet Cream
Use 1 3/4 cups of heavy cream instead of the milk in the base recipe
2 teaspoons vanilla extract OR the inside of a vanilla bean, scraped
1 teaspoon almond extract
Chocolate Orange
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1-2 teaspoons orange extract
Hazelnut
2 teaspoons hazelnut extract
Chocolate Hazelnut
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons hazelnut extract
Cinnamon Cake
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Salted Caramel
2-3 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
1/2 teaspoon salt
Eggnog
replace milk in base recipe with equal amount of heavy cream
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons rum extract
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Toasted Almond
2 teaspoons almond extract
Directions & Tips:
In all these recipes, anything that has a dry or thick ingredient (like cinnamon, honey, etc..) should be heated up with a small amount of your milk/cream from the base recipe so it can dissolve properly. Then, add the rest of the milk/cream along with the sweetened condensed milk.
If you want really creamy creamer, use heavy cream instead of milk in your base recipe.

KCKC, I sure will.  It will be awhile though,  until I can get the ingredients.  I am sorta house bound right now.

Sure, 2 weeks out from having neck surgery.  Discs removed from C5,6,7, pins and screws and plate put in.  In hard collar for at least another week.  Can't drive until I can use a soft collar.  Good news is I will be able to ride sometime in the Spring!

I do not consume milk anymore.  So now what?

That is a lot of sugar.

I quit doing sugar in coffee to cut out some extra calories in my diet, and did only milk.  Now no milk and use coffee mate only.

O
Perhaps substitute one of the nut milks?  Soy milk, almond milk, etc.?  Not sure that they'd be any more or less healthy than coffeemate--just a thought.

What is not good in the above recipe is a lot of sugar.  But at least you don’t have a whole list of chemicals no one can pronounce, or know what they are....as in CoffeeMate.
And even though it has a lot of sugar, I am assuming most people will just put a tsp or two in their coffee.  So you are only getting a bit at a time.

With a creamer that sweet I would not use extra sugar at all.  I also would guess it could be played with after the first time.

I'm a big stevia fan ... white stevia from nunaturals is what I use.   I wonder if you could use heavy cream and stevia or even almond or cashew milk (cashew is my new go to milk) with stevia then add other flavoring.

Just a couple of things to add in case anyone has never used stevia... if you get the pure 100% stevia you do not use it like sugar.  It takes about 1/16 of a teaspoon to be as sweet as 3 or 4 teaspoons of sugar.
