So, Jane and I took off in a high wind advisory to meet the hauler and get Buster.  Half way there I watched the semi ahead of me tip off one set of wheels in back.  Wind gusts were 48 mph.  But my truck and trailer felt stable.  Buster was hesitant to get off the haulers trailer then hesitant to get on mine. It was a long day of not great driving conditions.  When we were loading Buster in my trailer, cadence called Jane.  Apparently she went to the office and told the school secretary she needed to call her grandmother.  She just wanted to know if we had picked him up yet.

Then her grandpa brought he over to help get him settled into a stall for the night.

He comment whe she got back home....this is the best day of my entire life.

He is settling in.  As soon as it was light I put him out with Lola and Belle.  He will be there for a while as I can see that entire pasture from my house and make sure he is settling in and used to the cold.

That has to be the best feeling.  I know it was a lot of driving, and probably some of it white-knuckled, but that child's joy should lift you up for several years to come.

What a great day for her!!  TY for helping to make her dream come true.

Per the seller...Buster has never seen an indoor arena before.  He has been nervous, but getting used to it.  Jane and I have both ridden him in there, and he seems used to the tack I have for him, now.  I took photos, but you folks don't want to see photos of old ladies riding him.  Cadence is coming by after school today, and she will finally get more than a pony ride.  Yes, I will provide you photos of a little girl riding Buster.

This is The photo you folks were wanting.

Cadence came after school today and rode him in the arena.  He is still a bit nervous, but really listened well to her.  Sadly, our weather is about to turn frigid, so it will be a while before she rides him again.  But she did promise to come every day during school break and feed him, so he bonds to her and not to me.

There is no feeling in the world like what a Grandmother feels when her grand child is into horses and gets her first horse and Grandmother is there proud as can be.
What a nice pair they make.

Yes, Judy, it is.  Jane wanted to come to our grandma/grandkids camp out last summer, but no matter how we gloved Cadence, tacked her horse for her, gave her fresh washed reins, still she had puffy watery eyes and was miserable by 40 minutes.  Jane and melody and I will have to figure out how we change clothes and never have cadence near our clothing with our horses hair on it.  But we can get it worked out and Cadence is excited that she can join the grandma grandkid ride this next summer.
