That is really sad.  But I am sure we have all gone through it and understand what you are dealing with now.  My horses are getting older, but the 2 younger ones are what I hope we will be riding through our golden years.  I think they are 10 now, but I am going by memory with out looking at their papers.  The other 2 are in their upper teens.  So far, all but Ariel are doing well.  Ariel has arthritis in both front legs and can not be ridden any more and has a hard time moving around at all.  But it is not my horse to say what to do with her, and Steve refuses to put her down.  So we have no room for a replacement at this time.
