Well, Strider has 9 doses left and is still falling :-(.  Vet not returning my emails.  He will be my hiking partner.

Strider finished his meds and we started hiking together.  We have moved up very slowly because of my leg. I fell going on 2 years ago and damaged everything above and below my knee. We are still on the flattest trail, but nothing is really flat here. Strider has gotten much stronger and is barely stumbling any more. I may eventually be able to ride him again.  Is it common for gaited horses to atumble or fall when they lose condition?  Another gaited horse here has had a similar problem but not to the same extent

Well I spoke with the vet who did Strider's teeth on Tuesday. Lots of experience with gaited horses. He did a quick exam and after speaking with me about what treatment he has already had, concurred with the other 2 vets that Strider will never be safe to ride.
