I will not be held hostage by photobucket.
Their app does not work on iPads.  And I will NOT pay $60 every year just so I can embed my photos.  $10, maybe even $20.  But I will not be held hostage for $60.

I will have to transfer all my photos and graphics to Flikr and spend a lot of time embedding again.

I am so angry.

Anyway, it will not happen until the weekend at the earliest.

This also means anyone who used photobucket just lost their embedded photos, all the ads, sorry.

On further reading it is $400 per year for linking privileges. 

They are absolutely nuts!  I will have John help me with Flikr.  And pray Flikr doesn't get just s stupid.  Yes, you can ask for people to pay a little.  But $400 a year is way too much for their services.  They will be left with just a few a big accounts...and not enough to make up for what they loose.

I don't understand. I see some people's images are gone, but mine is still here. And I haven't had a paid Pbucket account for a couple years.

I put mine onto my hard drive and then just move them to this site.  I have never used pbucket and I agree that is a ton of money.

I have other friends that just recently left Photobucket for the same reason, including an Admin of another forum for just this reason.

the main reason I started using photobucket was so I could post pix on GHS (in the previous version).  Since you switched to the current version, I've had no problem posting pix directly from my PC.  I suspect we'll see more of this misguided profit taking "because they can" (or think they can).  Grrrrr

John, please rewrite the photo linking instructions at FAQ for Flickr only.
I will work on my own graphics later.  I will delete the banner for now so as not to annoy people....mostly it annoys ME.

Looks like all my pics are gone too.  Truth be told, Photobucket has gotten a little to big for their britches, and all the advertising you have to wade through to get to your account these days has been driving me absolutely nuts.  I just set up a Flickr account.  Hopefully that's better.

I am thinking the accounts have been changing on a rolling basis.
This is NOT an iPad problem, and the link is still there, and I can use the link.
But I get photobuckets stupid graphic instead of my photos.
A cruise through the Internet says this started happening a week ago, and my account just changed yesterday.  And just about everyone is angry.  I could not link comments as we don't allow that type of language used here!
The law of diminishing returns.  If you raise prices enough, you loose so many customers that you make less money than you did at a lower price.
Yep, photobucket just found that out.  I truly would have paid $10-$20 a year for the privilege.  But not 400.  $400 is groceries for two months, shoeing four horses,  teeth floating for 3 1/2 horses.  Heck I would buy a brand new harness for Lola for that amount.

A few years ago I quit with photobucket.  I found my photos I had posted blasted all over the internet and people were using them.  Horse pictures mind you, but STILL.  I deleted every single photo.  People stole my photos, captioned them with nasty things, I was not happy.  Once I deleted them they were gone from those people forever I hope.  Yeah, they could have copied to their hard drive for all I know. 

I dislike the internet at times.  Well, lots of times these days.

BTW I am not on an ipad, but do have one.  I have a mackbook, but it also happened on an ibm clone too.

So...John is going to work up photo linking directions for flikr. 
There is a learning curve to get the graphics embeded in the message board software.  That is a different procedure than adding to a post.  And my programming skills re so rusty...
