A Woman and her horse....Alone at last.
« on: November 08, 2015, 11:53:33 am »

I wanted to start a journal separate from my 'Winds of change' journal. If anything, more for myself to see my new journey with Mercy. I call this a new journey. I guess I should feel good my husband see's me confident and capable enough to start riding out alone, even if it's just a few minutes at a time as much as time allows. So here it goes. A woman and her horse. It will be interesting to look back later....a year or two...more. Two females growing together.

Very first ride...April 2015

The 3rd ride...much better than last two. But that's what I was figuring.

I got out a bit later than usual. Just as I was going to Mercy at the trailer (all tacked up) I seen our neighbor was going for a walk with his kids and the two dogs. I think I had mentioned before the one dog is an un-fixed Great Pyrenees. He is the one that came rushing out the fence towards Mercy, Barking the last time. The owner has always told me, "oh, he likes to run under horses legs, so just have the horse kick him!" Yeah, like that will work if your horse is terrified. But I knew I had planned my 3rd ride so I decided to go out anyways knowing they go out for a while. I will conquer that hill when I get to it. Luckily, I knew they were far out so I took advantage. This is only a very sort clip but I rode about 20 min. The last bit was me going up and down my alley and talking to a neighbor, not real exciting. She's getting much better by only the third ride. At about 5:16 she thought we were headed home....well, no. I kept turning her back around.
