Photos of tack storage
« on: October 27, 2015, 07:31:41 am »

My new covered arena is mostly done.  Now I need to build some sort of tack storage in there.  Mostly to protect the saddles from getting dusty.  I would love to see photos of things that are more storage lockers than complete separate rooms.

I should add that I want to store my children's saddles, and maybe one or two saddles belonging to my store employee.  My personal saddles are just outside in my tack shed on wheels.

I don't have a picture of it, but I saw a tack closet at an auction last weekend. From the outside, it looked like a smaller version of an old wooden outhouse. Three saddle holders on the back wall. A bridle rack on one wall and wooden shelves for medicine, etc. on the other wall. Enough room under the saddle racks for a grooming kit. Super cool. I'm not sure how much it sold for, but it was definitely one of a kind.

like these?  you could add wheels to make easier to move or put on slats to pick up and move with forks?

That is cool!  I haven't any solid walls, this is a canvas covered hoop building.  But that is very cool!

I like it.... wouldn't like that dust would get in around it but it would not be hard to do even without a roof...  you could look at the way rear tack compartments have the swing out for saddles and incorporate it too.    Neat...

Pinterest (website for pinning up pictures, originally made for sewing craft but now has everything on it) would have some nice pictures and plans and there are links through to web pages under many pictures.

I get lots of nice DIY ideas from there.
